Perfect Fit & Finish! Classic Restorations Nails This 1970 Malibu Build

We kicked off opening day at the 2026 Pigeon Forge Rod Run Spring event with an absolute bang! On Thursday morning, we officially unveiled this incredible 1970 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible as part of the ScottieDTV Dirty Dozen display, and it stole the show right out of the gate.

Built by Dustin and the incredibly talented team at Classic Restorations of Southern Indiana, this Malibu is the perfect definition of a "stealth" pro-touring machine. It retains a gorgeous, high-level stock appearance, but the flawless fit and finish tell you it’s a custom masterpiece.

Painted in a deep, beautiful factory Forest Green, it features a modern black Stayfast canvas convertible top that looks sharp and is built to last. The interior matches perfectly with a black aftermarket kit that mimics the stock look while upgrading the comfort, complete with Vintage Air to keep things cool.

Underneath the timeless lines, this Chevy is a modern performer:

Under the Hood: A super-cleanly installed GM Performance 350 crate engine, upgraded with fuel injection for effortless modern reliability.

Stance & Suspension: Full Ridetech suspension components give it the perfect stance and razor-sharp handling.

The Wheels: A killer touch—they look exactly like the iconic factory rally wheels from back in the day, but they are actually custom 18-inch 3-piece aluminum wheels.

Dustin always knocks it out of the park, but high-end restorations like this are truly his jam. If you love a classic muscle car that looks factory-fresh but drives like a brand-new machine, you can see exactly why this '70 Malibu earned its spot in the Dirty Dozen!

Check it out and let me know your favorite part of the build in the comments!
