The city of Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountain region of Eastern Tennessee was once again home to thousands upon thousands of hot rods for the 2016 Fall Pigeon Forge Rod Run. This annual show drew record numbers of participants and spectators into the LeConte Event Center that was packed with show cars and vendors. The show not only filled up the event center but also a large area outside of the building with more show vehicles and vendors. The outside show cars had the opportunity to leave the grounds and take part in what is known as “Cruisin’ the Strip” during the day or at night.

During the three days of the show, Jim Mitchum son of Robert Mitchum and star of Thunder Road was signing autographs and taking time for photographs with fans. This year’s feature display vehicle was the 1932 Ford Tudor sedan named “Gold Rush” built by Big Oak Garage. The draw for the spectators was the chance to look at some of the top built vehicles in the country and shop with top name vendors. For registered participants it was the shot at $10,000 in cash given away between Friday and Saturday. During the show on Saturday door prizes winners were announced by Koto the official DJ for the show. Then on Saturday afternoon there was the announcement of the highly sought after awards, Top 25 and the Ultimate 5 Awards.

The Spring Pigeon Forge Rod Run that will also feature Scottie D’s Dirty Dozen will be held April 6-8, 2017 at the LeConte Event Center. For more information call 865-687-3976 or visit www.rodrun-pigeonforge.com or the official Pigeon Forge Rod Run Facebook page.
