There was no foolin’ around on this April Fool’s Day at the 2017 Spring Coker Tire Cruise-In as the sounds of engines rolling through downtown Chattanooga. Being one of the first events in the Southeast, the car show season kicked off to a great start early Saturday morning. With incredible growth each year, Coker Tire expanded the grounds to allow more cars in and this year even incorporated a swap meet for the first time.

There were over 2,500 cars from throughout the region! This event is open to muscle cars, classic trucks, motorcycles, customs and anything else one may decide to build. Originality at its finest, you can see everything from a “Walking Dead” themed car to a full blown American flag wagon that just screams “’Merica”. Aside from the very creative builds, the classic hot rods such as the 50’s Chevy Bel Air’s and 30’s Ford Roadsters are sure to catch your eye as they’re rolling through the streets.

During the event, Coker Tire opens their shop free to the public to tour and check out a magnificent collection of early motorcycles, airplanes, automobiles and memorabilia. Right around the corner is the Honest Charley Speed Shop, and it sure brings in a crowd! Aside from checking out all the cool rides, it’s a great time to get the family out, enjoy some lunch from the food trucks, and check out the various vendor’s booths.

Downtown Chattanooga could not provide a better location for car lovers and the charm that the city exudes makes for an incredible weekend getaway. A show that brings diversity amongst the automotive industry and brings everyone together is truly a great experience. Thanks to Corky Coker, owner of Coker Tire, and his all-star team, this cruise-in gets better every year, and we look forward to what the next year will bring!
